Vibration Control of Multi-Modular VLFS in Random Sea Based on Stiffness-Adjustable Connectors

The response control of a very large floating structure (VLFS) is crucial issue that affects the stability and safety structure. This paper presents vibration method for stabilizing motion multi-modular VLFS by using set stiffness-adjustable connectors. proposed connector consists cylindrical spring with an embedded actuator, making its stiffness adjustable. In case study, layout such connectors suggested to reduce surge, heave, pitch, yaw motions in random seas. To responses VLFS, mathematical model established. A state feedback scheme developed Sequential Quadratic Programming, which able adapt varying wave conditions. Numerical studies indicate based on was greatly modules when compared flexible also loads hinged Most importantly, this enables elimination resonant changing system stiffness.
